Frequently Asked Questions

Is my hair long enough for extensions?

For all hair extensions, your natural hair needs to be long enough and healthy enough to take a braid or cornrow. This normally means approximately 1.5'' of growth. There are always exceptions however, and hair texture is a great determinant of what these exceptions may be. Curly hair is easier to braid and more likely to keep a braid than bone straight hair. Yanie is quite skilled at creating cornrows however, and has been known to provide shoulder length hair extensions for clients who have had 0.5'' - 1.0'' of natural hair growth.

What happens as my hair grows out?

After initial application, the extensions will need to be "tightened" every 6-8 weeks, depending on how quickly your natural hair grows. The grade of hair we have chosen for your style, will determine the amount of hair extension replacement with every tightening. The highest quality hair extensions may only require replacement after a period of a year, whereas lower grades may require minimal replacement with every tightening. This being said, Mohair guarantees the quality of hair extensions used, and will only provide you with the best available on the market.
