Method
The oldest and most successful method of hair extension application can be traced back to ancient Egypt,
and was in fact created by Cleopatra. It has been passed down through the years, and the basic concept
remains unchanged. Yanie has developed unique techniques based on this method, to create a custom design
to suit your individual needs. Initially, several cornrow 'tracks' are formed in intricate patterns
following your individual head shape. Hair extensions are then woven onto these tracks to give you the
length, thickness, or colour your desire. Because no foreign agents (glue, wax, metal clamps, or other
adhesives) are used to attach the hair extensions, your own hair will be protected within the cornrow,
being able to grow out naturally without damage.
Time commitment: 3-6 hours
Individual Braids
Off -the-scalp braiding employs a three-strand (or multiple strand) braiding technique to incorporate loose fiber of hair into your natural hair. Hair can be braided to completion, or left loose at the ends for style versatility. Braids are categorized by size (mini, midi, large) and will be priced accordingly. Time commitment: 6-15 hours
Cornrows
This technique is very similar to the braid technique, with the exception that the braid is formed on the scalp. Popular with both sexes, cornrow styles have recently undergone innovations in both style and form. This method may be incorporated with other extension services for a unique look. Time commitment: 1/2 hour - 5 hours
Interlocking
cornrow is first created to provide a base to which natural or synthetic hair is added. A textile tool is then used to weave any type of hair extensions into the cornrow. A full look of braids can be created in as little as two hours. This process is especially recommended for younger clients, and those with less patience. Time commitment: 1/2 hour - 4 hours
